Composed by the talented arranger for the U.S. Air Force Band in Washington, D.C., this work is a musical tribute to the serenity and all encompassing sense of peace that pervades the historic grounds of George Washington’s home, Mt. Vernon, recalling the panoramic view from the east side of the mansion. A fanfare section hails the arrival of General Washington, eventually giving way to a restatement of the lyric section and concluding with a serene sunset.
