Description
Named after a popular Latin dance club in New York City that recently closed, this authentic salsa original is a showstopper in every way! After opening with a dynamic tutti unison, it features two Latin styles, songo and samba. Songo rhythms are most commonly heard in salsa music and employ lots of syncopation supported by a repetitious, but always moving rhythm section background. The samba rhythm used in the interlude features lush, modern voicings. Solo space is reserved for soprano sax, tenor sax, trumpet and trombone; a member of the rhythm section could also solo. A guitar chord chart by Jim Greeson is included in each set. Duration 4:35.
