This poem was discovered in a dark, damp cellar in Cologne, Germany where thousands of Jews hid from persecution from the Nazis. The poem has a powerful, incredibly lonely and desperate tone. This plaintive setting is in both German and English, and may be performed in either or a combination of both languages.
