Keep Them Playing! Alternative Resources Session

Description

This special presentation led by Music Direct Ltd.’s Don Closson was featured at the Saskatchewan Music Conference. Please click here for our Youtube video session! For timestamps see below.

This session focuses on many types of resources for a wide variety of grade levels from K-12. It will be of interest to those teachers who cannot play band (or sing) and those who can play but with restrictions, such as social distancing, and who must look at smaller, reduced arrangements (such as chamber music or flex band arrangements) as they cannot fit the entire band or choir in one room.

This Reading Session will offer ideas for elementary music teachers, band teachers, choir teachers, and anyone who finds themselves pivoting to new ideas and strategies in the wake of COVID-19.

Alternative resources in a variety of levels will be featured, including bucket drumming, body percussion, boomwhackers, percussion ensembles of many kinds, theory and history, chamber music collections, flex band and more!
